Khaki Soldiers
Standard khaki Canvas kitbag Black boots Rifle in hand Farewell their families With waving hands Sail in troop ships To bloodstained lands Limbs are lost Men lay dead The fear of death A constant dread HAPPINESS I met an angel she held out her hand She spoke to me softly of many things grand She told we are the creation that we see We are its beauty and tranquillity. We are the illusion our hurt and pain. We are the freshness of the falling rain. Down mighty rivers, over beach sands Up mountains, through deserts, across many lands She spoke of Mother Nature and her lovely gifts She spoke of wisdom, clarity from the myths Then the angel stopped and she looked at me She spoke with compassion Are you Happy? Some times I am happy often I am sad Sometimes I am angry, bitter even mad Oh said the Angel with a knowing smile I guess you have been like this for quiet awhile? Now sit yourself down upon that seat Take some deep breaths, rest those feet Create happiness within my friend Love yourself, good thoughts send Turn the dark thoughts into light A world of colour, shiny and bright Although I speak in rhythmic tones I know my words hit deep to the bone We are loved, we are blessed Life is for living, so do your best. One Tribe
Animal s, birds, aquatic beings Sharing the land, sky and seas Ranginui look down at Papatuanuku Look down Ranginui, look down with open eyes Look down and see Tāne’s beautiful forests Do you see Kiwa dance in crested waves? Do you see the creatures that fill the air, land and sea? Help us to embrace in the oneness that we are For we are One Papatuanuku Tribe |
Little Angel
Little angel you came to me Shared a time with my pregnancy Beautiful angel you left too soon Soul angel of my flesh and womb We had such plans, we had such hopes Little angel please help me cope My eyes fill with tears , my heart with pain Oh how I long for us to be together again The stars twinkle They shine bright Tonight they are joined By my little angel in light © Paul Crabbe all rights reserved
Little Train
This little train is old they say So he doesn’t get to hug the tracks on many days He just a little train with a real train smell Who is enormously proud of his big brass bell He is lucky to have a caring team From his big heart he puffs out some steam And sooty smoke billows from his stack But he is just a little train With three carriages at his back Ocean’s Charm
Sky meets ocean On a distant horizon Wave after wave Finds the shore Gentle salty air Refreshes the mind While bare feet Stand in soft white sand All poems on this page
